Physical Therapists help a patient regain their normal physical activity, promote health and teach you how to prevent exacerbations in the future. Patients are taught how to maintain their improvement after they complete their course of treatment. Physiotherapists treat patients with different modalities, techniques, and exercise that helps to reduce or eliminate pain , improve mobility and quality of life. Pre-and post-operative physical therapy is also necessary as it helps in rapid recovery.

It improves range of motion and prevents injury from re-occuring. Flexibility training also improves mental and physical recovery. There are three types of flexibility training. Dynamic stretching, static stretching and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). Physical Therapist will incorporate specific stretching techniques based on your injury/condition.
